Product Owner

The Agile Product Owner will lead the requirements efforts for our agile delivery teams to ensure that project goals are met. This highly collaborative role will work closely with project managers, key stakeholders, executives, end users, and technical team members to deliver quality features and solutions to our customers.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Support an Agile Software Development process, working in conjunction with end users / stakeholders and technical delivery team.
  • Ensure quality by providing traceability to design documentation, features, user stories, test cases, and operational training material.
  • Work directly with other product owners, product managers, developers, testers, and customers to help define features and create technical user stories.
  • Work directly with the technical teams to size, prioritize and plan the implementation of features and user stories.
  • Monitor and review project progress and timelines, adjust schedules and plans as needed, and identify and resolve issues to ensure project success.
  • Serve as scrum master for multiple daily standups.
  • Promote continual improvement through Sprint Retrospectives.
  • Assist in the creation and prioritization of product backlogs.
  • Attend Sprint Planning sessions and facilitate communication of sprint goals.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 3+ years of experience as an Agile Product Owner.
  • Modify the backlog in response to change (without having to throw out lots of work)
  • Say “no” appropriately when necessary to maximize the value of your product.
  • Split big slices of value into small slices of value.
  • Experience working in an Agile Scrum environment.
  • Write user stories in a way that allows the team to contribute to the “what”.
  • Able to express the connections between larger business goals and small backlog items
  • Good understanding of iterative development methodologies.
  • Highly detail oriented and well organized.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Energetic, motivated, and service-oriented.
  • Proven track record of delivering on time, on budget, and meeting commitments.
  • Excellent listening, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Flexible—able to adapt to new situations and challenges.
  • Experience with the Atlassian suite of tools (Jira, Confluence, etc.)
  • Experience working with User Experience teams.
